I am interested in the "Kilen Family History" by Mr.Esser. My great grandfather brought his family from the same farm in Norway. They eventually settled in what is now Lakefield,MN. I have many relatives north of Thief River Falls, Mn. I would like to correspond with some of the kilens if there are any left around.
Someone sure has done alot of work on this web page. I am sure every one appreciates it. Thanks.
Earle

My husband and I are planning a 6000-mile road trip later this year. North Dakota is one of the 3 states in the lower 48 he hasn't been to, so he make sure I included that in the itinerary. (I haven't been anywhere beyond Illinois on this trip from Kentucky, so I'm thrilled with it all.)

I've decided that the Old Red/Old Ten is going to be our off-interstate excursion in North Dakota and can't wait to get the camera out and photograph and write about this beautiful area.

Thanks to all who worked to get the scenic byway designation (or we might not have found you!) and for those like Roger who keep the communities along this byway alive.

Almont is a wonderful town. My grandparents were Albert and Leatha Anderson. They owned a farm a few miles outside of Almont. I have so many wonderful memories of being on the farm and in town. A few years ago I was back for Memorial Day. The town celebrates this day with a moving ceremony in town and travels between the cemeteries in Sims and Almont for two more services. Big cities have nothing on the citizens of Almont when it comes to the respect and ceremony given to Veteran's.

My family came from Almont (Trygve Olson is my Great Grandfather) and it was great to find so much history on where they came from on the internet. Thank you.
